Paxten is a 21 year old girl living in Missouri with dreams that her words might one day reach beyond her little corner of the midwest. She has struggled with anxiety and bouts of major depression since she was 12 years old. At 13, a time she refers to as “the darkest” in her life, she planned to commit suicide. Paxten was able to get the help she needed to survive the darkest time in her life and she is passionate about helping others survive their darkest times. She plans to use this blog to share the progress she has made in recovering from major depression and anxiety. She also plans to share things she has learned about mental illness over the years. She feels that after nine years of recovery she has a lot to share with everyone, not just those suffering from mental illness. Paxten feels her knowledge could benefit anyone knowingly or unknowingly suffering from mental illness or anyone who has a loved one suffering from mental illness. This includes parents and guardians, siblings, friends, teachers, coaches, etc.

Paxten currently lives with her family in her hometown of Jefferson City, Missouri. She works two part-time jobs and attends college online. She is pursuing a degree in Sociology, although ultimately she is still deciding what she wants to do with her life.

Paxten is a proud dog mama to a one year old chocolate lab. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and their dogs, as well as her own. Paxten loves to play and coach volleyball. During the summer she plays on a sand volleyball team with her friends. Paxten also enjoys watching movies and is a big fan of Marvel. Some of her favorite shows are WandaVision or crime shows, such as Criminal Minds or Hawaii Five-O.
